Our Reliability Policy

At Kora, both Hosts and Cooks are expected to follow through on every booking request and accepted booking. Our ultimate goal is to maintain a community that will provide a reliable experience for both Hosts and Cooks.

Booking Details

After accepting a booking, Cooks are expected to adhere to all booking details and terms. The terms of a booking include the confirmed day and time, preparing agreed upon dishes, and leaving the kitchen as the Cook found it. Cooks have the ability to decline booking requests when they are not the right fit. If a Cook finds they cannot agree to all terms of the booking, we ask that they decline the request within 24 hours of receiving the request and provide a reason.

We advise Cooks not to negotiate booking terms after accepting a booking request and to leverage the Kora platform to make any booking changes. This excludes any communication regarding updates to menu requests and ingredients which should be managed via Kora’s secure  Reports of booking negotiations outside of the Kora platform may result in a warning and up to and including permanent removal from the platform.

Cancellations

Both Hosts and Cooks are expected to uphold their booking commitments. However, we do understand that life can lead to unexpected circumstances which may cause a Host or a Cook to cancel a booking. If either a Host or a Cook needs to cancel in case of an emergency, they should officially 'cancel booking’ on their Dashboard on the Kora platform as soon as possible, and provide a reason.

Cancellations completed with more than 24 hours notice will not incur any penalties.

Booking cancellations done by a Host within 24 hours of the scheduled booking will incur a 100% charge to the Host.

Booking cancellations done by a Cook within 24 hours of the scheduled booking is strongly discouraged.  Repeated cancellations by a Cook will be closely monitored.

No-Call/No-Shows

Not showing up to an accepted booking, especially without communication, is not acceptable conduct with Kora. If a Host or Cook is a no-show for a booking, it should be reported as soon as possible by contacting Kora at info@mykoralife.com. The Kora team takes action on every reported no-show.

Refunds

Kora is committed to ensuring that all terms of bookings are met and exceeded.  If a Host has concerns about their booking, we welcome the Host to contact us info@mykoralife.com to review the details of your concerns.  We will evaluate each of these requests specifically to determine if a refund is warranted.

Problematic Reliability Concerns

We review all cancellations and no-shows in detail and use all the information available to us to determine if a cancellation or no-show will warrant action taken on a Host or Cook’s account. We recognize each situation is unique and as such we will review each case to determine any follow up steps.  We do consider the following during the review:

  1. Timing of the cancellation (eg Within 24 hours)

  2. Frequency of cancellations by Host or Cook

  3. Reason for cancellation.

To protect the member experience on Kora, Kora reserves the right, in its full discretion, to take corrective action on Host or Cook' accounts. Our Reliability Policy is in place in order to maintain the quality of the Kora platform and to ensure that the Kora Community can trust the reliability of others.

While we recognize that life does happen, members deemed to be unreliable may have action taken on their account, including permanent account closure. These members would be removed from Kora for being in violation of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Safety and Security Policy

At Kora, we are focused on the safety and comfort of our Hosts and Cooks.  All Cooks must successfully pass a background check to be active on the Kora platform.  As such, we have laid out the following policy for both Hosts and Cooks using the Kora platform.

  • Hosts will ensure that they provide fresh, edible, non expired ingredients
